Here is a screen shot.Can you see the image is not central in the open workspace. A bigger image has the edge hidden behind the palettes on the right.

I Think John is correct. Can you not drag the image to wherever you want it? Or make it not full size? At some point you may wish to consider a second monitor so that palettes and such can be placed...

If you go to windows and select something other than tabbed document. ie cascade, you will then get your image in a separate window and can move or resize.
